Biography

Izzy Cossarin is a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer at ACE, specializing in system design and test automation. Izzy’s work is focused on enhancing customer experience by improving the repeatability, consistency and efficiency of the testing process, helping drive innovation and collaboration at ACE. 

In her role, Izzy: 

  • Leads end-to-end execution of complex aerodynamic and environmental test programs for academic and industry clients. 
  • Assembles, integrates, calibrates and validates instrumentation systems including pressure measurement systems, data acquisition hardware, environmental control systems and custom test rigs. 
  • Develops test plans, risk assessments and technical procedures to ensure safe and repeatable operation of high-value test articles. 
  • Serves as a primary technical liaison between clients and facility staff, translating test objectives into executable engineering plans. 

Izzy brings an extensive background in ACE's facility, having worked at ACE in the role of Engineering and Operations Support during her undergrad, where she gained first-hand experience in wind tunnel testing and facility operations. After graduation, Izzy worked in industry as an Automation Engineer, where she contributed to the development of autonomous mining machinery and advanced safety and navigation systems. 

Izzy is a licensed member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, holding a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics and a Master of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Tech University. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), blending her technical expertise with strong leadership and project execution skills.
