Research and Development Engineer
Biography
Liam is a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer at ACE, specializing in mechanical design and project management. Liam supports client testing, internal development projects and facility improvements, helping to drive innovation and collaboration across ACE.
In his role, Liam:
- Leads the design and development of custom fixtures, prototypes and test components.
- Supports ACE’s Machine Shop through the translation of project requirements into precise, manufacturable solutions.
- Assembles, integrates, calibrates and validates instrumentation systems including pressure measurement systems, data acquisition hardware, environmental control systems and custom test rigs.
- Contributes to the planning and execution of innovative R&D projects that expand ACE’s capabilities.
Liam plays an important role in supporting the Machine Shop, helping ensure client testing requirements are met through the in-house development of custom fixtures and facility upgrades at ACE.
Liam brings valuable experience from his previous time at ACE, where he worked during his undergraduate studies as an intern in the Machine Shop. After completing his degree, he worked for a utility submetering company, developing custom solutions and managing projects for complex multifamily and commercial developments. Bringing together his academic experience at ACE with his professional experience following his degree, Liam brings a diverse range of knowledge and valuable insight to ACE’s engineering team.
Liam holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Ontario Tech University.
