Biography

At ACE, Kyle is responsible for research and development projects that push the boundaries of the facility’s capabilities, including the design and integration of large-scale systems such as the Moving Ground Plane. His work involves bridging hands-on technical expertise with advanced engineering design, ensuring that new systems are both innovative and practical for client applications. Kyle collaborates with internal teams and industry partners to deliver robust testing environments that meet the highest standards of precision and reliability.

Kyle’s career began as a Red Seal electrician, where he gained over 30 years of experience in industrial, commercial, and residential applications. His deep background in electrical systems gave him a unique foundation before transitioning into engineering. Pursuing his passion for innovation, Kyle completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics at Ontario Tech University. While a student, he served as the lead for the Formula SAE team’s electric drivetrain group, further strengthening his expertise in vehicle electrification and system integration.

He first joined ACE as an intern, contributing to the development of the Moving Ground Plane project, before returning full-time as a Research & Development Engineer. Kyle’s blend of trades experience and formal engineering education allows him to approach projects with both practical insight and technical rigor, making him an invaluable contributor to ACE’s continued growth in advanced testing solutions.
