As the NSERC-GMCL Chair in Innovative Design Engineering, Dr. Pop-Iliev facilitates an innovative concurrent approach to design engineering training at UOIT. The program focuses on the automotive industry, as an example of how design education is utilized in engineering practice to the benefit of industry. It provides unique educational methods for engineers to effectively meet the emerging needs of industry.

Dr. Greg Rohrauer
Dr. Rohrauer was instrumental in designing the layout and specifications of the ACE facility. He is responsible for facilitating academic linkages, and co-ordinating personnel, projects and equipment used within ACE. He leads the Advanced Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Research Lab at UOIT, with the largest fleet of highway-capable electric vehicles in Canada. He also leads the UOIT EcoCAR Challenge student team.
